Women's Ice Hockey Drops ECAC Game to #4 Cornell

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team lost to the No. 4/4 Cornell, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats came within one goal in the second period, but the Big Red would score two goals in the third period and earn the 4-1 victory.
Senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout scored her ninth goal of the season, which is ties her career-high in a season. Senior Abbie Ives tallied 25 saves.
The student-athletes all skated together at the end of the game to form a heart at center ice. Quinnipiac and Cornell worked to promote positive mental health awareness at the annual DIFD game (Do It For Daron), and the Bobcats raised funds to give to mental health initiatives on campus.

- (9:16, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Cornell 2: Finley Frechette scored Cornell's second goal off a rebounded shot by Jamie Bourbonnais. Sam Burke also tallied an assist on the play.
- (17:07, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Cornell 2: The Bobcats got on the board late in the second period after a shot from sophomore Zoe Boyd. Senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout scored off the rebound. First year Sadie Peart also added a helper on the goal.
- (7:59, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Cornell 3: The Big Red scored its third goal of the game after a turnover by the Bobcats in their defensive zone behind the net. Amy Curlew poked the puck to Maddie Mills, who sent it across the goal to Kristin O'Neil.
- (12:51, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Cornell 4: Cornell's Grace Graham hit a rocket straight to senior netminder Abbie Ives, and Gillis Frechette scored on the rebound.
- Coutu-Godbout now leads the team with nine goals and has 12 points this season.

- Senior Kati Tabin led the team with five shots on goal.
