WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Quinnipiac earned its largest margin of victory in a non-conference game since 2007 as the Bobcats cruised past Hartford, 87-50, on Sunday afternoon in West Hartford.

Junior Shaquana Edwards once again led the way for the Bobcats with 20 points and sophomore Mackenzie DeWees set a new career high with 16 points.

GAME SUMMARY

The home team jumped out to an early 7-4 lead before Quinnipiac quickly responded with a 10-2 run in less than 3:30 to take a 14-9 lead of its own.
Quinnipiac shot 50% from the floor in the first quarter and took a 26-17 lead into the break.
Hartford was held without a field goal for the first 4:53 of the second quarter and the Bobcats outscored the hosts 25-8 in the frame.
The Bobcats used a 15-2 edge in the turnover battle to extend a 26-point lead at halftime.
The Quinnipiac defense locked down in the third quarter, holding the Hawks without a field goal for the first 7:54 of the period.
The defensive stand allowed the Bobcats to bring a 67-31 lead into the final quarter of play.
The game opened up a bit in the final period, as the teams combined for 39 points in the quarter.

Jaden Ward tallied a season-high eight points in the game, while also pulling down a career-best nine rebounds.

The 87 points were the program's most in a regular season game against a non-conference opponent since an 87-59 win over Hampton on November 18, 2014.
The 37-point win was Quinnipiac's largest since an 85-41 victory over Brown on November 11, 2007.
