Duo Combines for 38 points, Morris with 16 Rebounds
HAMDEN, Conn. – Junior Shaquana Edwards scored a career-high 22 points and first-year forward Mikala Morris recorded 16 points and 16 rebounds as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team came from behind to defeat Rhode Island, 75-63, on Saturday afternoon in Hamden.
Morris' career-high 16 rebounds were a part of her first double-double, while Edwards recorded 18+ points for the fourth consecutive game.

- Quinnipiac shot just 14.2% (3-21) in the first quarter, including 1-10 from three-point range, and trailed 17-8 at the end of the period.
- Rhode Island came out hot, shooting 53% (8-15) in the quarter, en route to the early lead.
- After a second-quarter three by Morris cut the Rhody lead to 23-19, Davida Dale quickly answered with a triple to regain a seven-point edge.
- The Bobcats rattled off a quick 6-0 run in the final 90 seconds of the half to pull within one, but Erin Jones beat the buzzer with a three to lift Rhode Island to a four-point halftime lead.
- Jones hit another three with 2:54 left in the third quarter to give the Rams a 47-40 advantage, but Quinnipiac took the game over from that point. The Bobcats ended the quarter on a 9-2 run and the teams hit the break locked in a 49-49 tie.
- Edwards and Cur'Tiera Haywood took control in the fourth quarter as the duo both knocked down three pointers within 20 seconds of each other to force a Rhode Island timeout with 8:42 on the clock.
- The Quinnipiac lead grew to eight after Haywood hit two free throws and another three with 7:26 to play.
- Rhode Island cut the lead to four with 2:24 remaining, but the Bobcats finished the game with six straight free throws and an Edwards jumpers and held Rhode Island scoreless to earn the win.
- After shooting just under 50% in the first half, the Rams were limited to 25% (10-40) from the floor in the final two quarters.
- The Bobcats outscored Rhode Island 48-32 in the second half and scored a season-high 26 points in the fourth quarter.
- Quinnipiac dominated on the fast break, outscoring the Rams by a 30-5 differential.
- The Bobcats scored 18 points off of turnovers to Rhody's 11 and also scored 17 second chance points.
- Tricia Fabbri's squad committed just nine turnovers, while forcing 20 from the visitors.
- Quinnipiac heads into the holiday break for a seven-day layoff before visiting the Hartford Hawks for an in-state contest on December 29.
