
Volleyball Takes Down Saint Peter's in Straight Sets

The Bobcats win their third straight match
HAMDEN, Conn – The Quinnipiac volleyball team defeated the Saint Peter's Peacocks in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.
With the win over the Peacocks, the Bobcats have won three straight matches.

SET ONE
Saint Peter's got out to an early 7-5 lead in the match. The Bobcats took a 10-9 lead off an ace from Aryanah Diaz. The teams would go point for point through the middle of the set, and the score would be tied at 15. The Bobcats would then go on a 4-0 run to take a 19-16 lead, forcing Saint Peter's to take a timeout. The Bobcats extended their lead to 23-17, forcing the Peacocks to take their second timeout of the set. Quinnipiac won two of the last three points to take the set 25-18.
SET TWO
The Bobcats began the set on a 7-0 run, forcing the Peacocks to call a timeout. The Bobcats would then win the next point out of the timeout to extend their lead to 8-0. The Peacocks went on a 4-0 run after that point to get the Bobcats lead in half. With the Bobcats leading 19-10, they went on a 5-0 run to reach set point. Saint Peter's fought off two set points, but the Bobcats would stop that run to take the set 25-12.
SET THREE
The teams went point for point in the beginning of the set to get the score to 8-8. With Saint Peter's leading 12-10, the Bobcats went on a 5-0 run to take a 15-12 lead, forcing Saint Peter's to call a timeout. The teams would the exchange 3-0 runs with both teams going on two runs of their own. The second Bobcats 3-0 run extended their lead to 22-18, forcing Saint Peter's to call a timeout. Saint Peter's would win the first two points out of the timeout, but the Bobcats won the final three points to take the set 25-21, and the match three sets to none.
