Women's Ice Hockey Wins 2019 Nutmeg Classic, Defeats Yale, 3-1

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated the Yale Bulldogs, 3-1, and captured the program's 8th Nutmeg Classic Cup. Senior Abbie Ives was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and received the Laurie Belliveau Goaltender Award.
Senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout and junior Brooke Bonsteel scored in the 3-1 win, including an empty-net goal by Bonsteel in the last two minutes of the game.
Coutu-Godbout, sophomore Lexie Adzija and first-year Kate Reilly were named to the All-Tournament Team.

- (18:57, 3rd period, EN) – Quinnipiac 3, Yale 1: Bonsteel scored an empty-net goal to give Quinnipiac a 3-1 lead. Tabin added an assist on the goal.
- Coutu-Godbout scored her second goal of the tournament and finished with three points through two games. She leads the team with eight goals on the season.
- Adzija leads the team in points with 16 after a three-point weekend on two goals and one assist.
- Bonsteel scored two goal in today's win, including the game-winner. The junior now has four goals and four assists for eight points this season.
- Boyd finished the weekend with two assists and now has four helpers this season.
- Markey tallied an assist in each win this weekend and now has six on the year.
- Ives recorded 35 saves, with one goal against in the 3-1 win. She stopped 76 of 79 shots faced through two games in the Nutmeg Classic and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
- Quinnipiac continues its homestand as Colgate and Cornell come to Hamden, Dec. 6-7.
