Bobcats Drain 17 Three-Point Field Goals in Win
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball cruised to a 17-point win in its 2019-20 home opener, defeating Albany by the final score of 86-69 in the program's first game of the Bobcats Invitational at the People's United Center in Hamden. The victory is the Bobcats' 300th in the Division I era (22 years).
Quinnipiac shot 30-of-57 (52.6 percent) from the floor, and 17-of-33 (51.5 percent) from distance. Quinnipiac's 17 3-point field goals are a season high, and the total is tied for the second largest total during Baker Dunleavy's time in Hamden.

- Rich Kelly led the way with 22 points, six assists and four rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting. The junior went 6-for-7 from distance over 34+ minutes of play.
- Tyrese Williams recorded 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting, going 4-for-8 from distance. He added two steals and three assists, as well.
- Kevin Marfo recorded his first double-double of the year, logging 10 points, 12 rebounds (five offensive).
- The Bobcats led 45-33 at halftime. Quinnipiac shot 8-of-16 from 3-point distance, and 16-of-30 from the floor in total.
- Quinnipiac went on a 9-0 run from over a 76-second span in the second half, as the Bobcats stretched their lead from 10 to 19. The run began with a driving layup from Savion Lewis, and ended with a Rich Kelly 3-point field goal to force an Albany timeout.
- Redshirt first-year Matt Balanc added 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting over 29+ minutes.
- Total rebounds were 37-33 in favor of Albany. The Bobcats recorded five blocks – two each for Seth Pinkney and Aaron Falzon.
- Savion Lewis recorded a career-high five assists.
- Quinnipiac outscored the Great Danes 14-0 in fast break chances.
- The Bobcats assist on 24-of-30 made field goals.
- Quinnipiac will square off with Presbyterian on Nov. 23 and Sacred Heart on Nov. 24 to finish the Bobcats Invitational in Hamden.
