Volleyball Sweeps Siena in Home Finale

Zampati records season-high 17 kills
HAMDEN, Conn – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team downed the Siena Saints, 3-0, on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Olga Zampati lead the team with a season-high 17 kills in the win. Sophomore Georgia Tselepi was right behind Zampati with 15 kills.
 
The Bobcats also clinched a spot in the 2019 MAAC Volleyball Championships with the win over Siena.

SET ONE
The points were traded between the two teams for the majority of the first set, but Quinnipiac jumped to a 15-10 lead as the set progressed; Siena was forced to call a timeout. The Saints came back and took back the lead, 23-22. The lead went back and forth through the end of the first set, but the Bobcats came out on top, 31-29.
SET TWO
The Bobcats came out and went on a 5-1 run to open the second set. Sophomore Georgia Tselepi tallied two kills through the first six points. The Saints came back to tie the set, 8-8, after a kill by Sol Guidarelli. The Saints would hold on to the lead until the Bobcats came back and tied it up, 14-14, after a kill by Tselepi. Tselepi would record her fifth kill of the set to give the Bobcats a 15-13 lead. Senior Maggie Baker would give the Bobcats a 20-18 lead after tallying her eighth kill of the match. Quinnipiac would hold on to the lead and win the second set, 25-20.
SET THREE
The Saints took a 10-6 lead in the third set after a kill by Dakota Jackson. The Bobcats would come back to tie the set, 13-13, after a kill from Tselepi and an attacking error made by the Saints. Sophomore Olga Zampati then recorded her 14th kill of the match to give the Bobcats a 16-14 lead. Lauren Miller gave the Bobcats a 20-19 lead after recording a kill. Quinnipiac went on to win, 25-20.
