NEWTON, Mass. – The Quinnipiac field hockey program battled against No. 17 Boston College on Sunday afternoon at the BC Field Hockey Complex, falling to the Eagles by the final score of 4-0.

Valerie Perkins recorded a team-high four shots for the Bobcats, while Bianca Strubbe attempted three. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 3-8 overall in 2019.

SCORING SUMMARY

First Quarter

2:32 (Boston College 1, Quinnipiac 0): Fusine Govaert got the Eagles on the board first, scoring her sixth goal of the season less than three minutes into action. Margo Carlin assisted the goal – which came off a corner opportunity.

Third Quarter

37:02 (Boston College 2, Quinnipiac 0): Nell Webber scored her second goal of the season midway through the third quarter of action, as Govaert was credited with the assist on the corner to give the Eagles a two-goal advantage.
37:31 (Boston College 3, Quinnipiac 0): Von Huelsen tallied the Eagles' third goal of the contest just 29 seconds later, tipping in another corner chance.

Fourth Quarter

46:50 (Boston College 4, Quinnipiac 0): Carlin Margo made it 4-0 Eagles with her first score of the contest – an unassisted goal in traffic out in front of the net.

The Bobcats battled the nationally-ranked Eagles in the first half of action, as shots were even 8-8 at halftime. Quinnipiac attempted five penalty corner chances before the break, as Valerie Perkins recorded four shots over the first 30 minutes of play.
