Strubbe Scores Pair of Goals and Adds Assist to Lead Scoring in 5-2 Win Over Bears
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac field hockey team defeated the Brown Bears, 5-2, on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Head coach Becca Main recorded her 200th career win and Bianka Strubbe (Wroclaw, Poland) led the team with two goals and one assist. Freshman goalie Mack Vorel (Mendham, New Jersey) recorded the win for the Bobcats with an eight-save effort.

- 2:54 – 1st (Quinnipiac 1, Brown 0): The Bobcats opened the scoring in the first quarter. Redshirt sophomore Brooke Whipkey (Charlotte, North Carolina) scored her first goal of the season from Inès Ruiz Martinez (Madrid, Spain).
- 8:57 – 1st (Quinnipiac 2, Brown 0): Freshman Julianna Cappello (Mohegan Lake, New York) tallied her fourth goal of the season as she found the back of the cage in the first quarter six minutes after Whipkey's goal. Freshman Eva Veldhorst (Maastricht, Netherlands) tallied the assist.
- 19:02 – 2nd (Quinnipiac 3, Brown 0): The Bobcats' leading scorer Strubbe tallied her seventh goal of the year to open the second quarter. Freshman Olivia Howard (Clifton Park, New York) added the assist.
- 29:40 – 2nd (Quinnipiac 4, Brown 0): Strubbe scored her second of the game and eighth of the year at the end of the second quarter. Veldhorst notched her second assist of the game.
- 53:20 – 4th (Quinnipiac 4, Brown 1): The Bears scored their first goal of the game in the fourth quarter off a penalty corner. Anya Nayak tallied her first goal of the season to put the Bears within three goals of the Bobcats lead.
- 57:38 – 4th (Quinnipiac 4, Brown 2): Brown came within two goals of the Bobcats' lead as Emma Rosen scored off a penalty corner.
- 59:59 – 4th (Quinnipiac 5, Brown 2): Sophomore Mikayla Dugan (Washington, New Jersey) scored her first career goal to give the Bobcats a 5-2 lead at the end of the fourth quarter. Strubbe added an assist for her fifth point of the game.
- Head coach Becca Main recorded her 200th career win after the 4-0 shutout.
- Strubbe recorded two goals and an assist in the win and leads the team with eight goals and three assists this season.
- Veldhorst tallied two assists in the win. She now has one goal and two assists on the season.
- Dugan's tally was the first of her career while Whipkey picked up her first goal of the season
- Cappello added her fourth goal of the season in the winning effort.
- Vorel earned her second win of the season with an eight-save performance, tied for her second-most saves in a game this season and take the team lead with 57 saves this season.
- Quinnipiac field hockey will play the final game of the season at home against Temple on Nov. 1 at 3 p.m.
