HAMDEN, CONN. – The Quinnipiac volleyball team fell to Fairfield on Saturday afternoon 3 sets to none. Three Bobcats led the offense with five kills each.

SET ONE
The Bobcats took a 5-4 lead on a Lydia Jones block. Both teams would trade points back and forth through the middle of the set. Fairfield would maintain a one or two point lead through that back and forth section of the match. The Stags would win two straight points to extend their lead to 19-16, forcing a Quinnipiac timeout. Coming out of the timeout, the Bobcats would cut the Fairfield lead to 21-20, and would eventually tie the set at 22. After the tie, Fairfield would win two straight points to take a 24-22 lead, forcing the final Bobcats timeout of the set. The Stags came out of the timeout and would win the final point to take the set 25-22.

SET TWO
Fairfield won the first four points of the set. The Bobcats came back from that Fairfield run to win three straight points to cut the Stags lead to 4-3. The set would remain close through the middle of the set. The Bobcats came within two at 20-18, but Fairfield would win five of the last six points to take the set 25-19.

SET THREE
Fairfield began the set winning the first two points, and pushed their lead out to 9-5 leading to a Bobcats timeout. Fairfield would go on a 3-0 run to take a 16-8 lead, resulting in the second Bobcat timeout of the set. The Stags would go on a 4-0 run to take a 21-10 lead. An Olga Zampati kill would stop that run, but the Stags would go on a second 4-0 run to take the set 25-11, and to take the match 3-0.
