HAMDEN, Conn. – Freshman Oriac Vila Rotxes (Navas, Spain) scored his first career goal in the 100^th minute of action, powering Quinnipiac men's soccer past Albany, 2-1, in overtime on Saturday afternoon for the Bobcats' first win of 2018.

44:06 (Quinnipiac 1, Albany 0): Romain Daniellou (Brest, France) gave the Bobcats the early lead, heading in a perfect cross from Matthew Taylor (Dublin, Ireland) with 54 seconds left in the first half.
59:13 (Quinnipiac 1, Albany 1): Nico Solabarrieta evened things up less than 15 minutes into the second half of action, as Reid Conde assisted on the Great Danes' equalizer.
Oriac Vila Rotxes scored the game-winner in the 100^th minute of play. Paulo Soares (Quincy, Mass.) delivered another perfect ball out in front of the net, and Vila Rotxes finished with the header to send the Bobcats home with the win.

NOTES

Daniellou's goal is his first of the season, and the first Quinnipiac goal of 2018 not scored by Eamon Whelan (New Fairfield, Conn.) – who has four goals already this year.
Vila Rotxes' goal is also his first of the season, and the first overtime goal for the Bobcats since Sept. 20, 2017 when Simon Hillinger (Ditzingen, Germany) scored in the 105^th minute vs. Marist.
Jared Mazzola (Katonah, NY) made four saves in net, including multiple stops at the end of regulation and in overtime to keep the game tied. Mazzola has started in three-straight games for the Bobcats, allowing just three goals during that span.
Quinnipiac attempted nine total shots, earning two corners.
The Bobcats are now 1-0-0 all-time vs. Albany.
