Four Different Bobcats Tallies Two Tries Each in Dominating Performance
HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 3 seed Quinnipiac women's rugby team dominated from start to finish Saturday afternoon as the Bobcats cruised to a 46-5 over the No. 6 seed Notre Dame College Falcons in the NIRA Quarterfinals.
With the victory, the Bobcats advance to their fourth consecutive NIRA Semifinal match where they will face the No. 2 seed Harvard for the third time this season.
Four different Bobcats each registered two tries on the day as Emily Roskopf (Dublin, California) scored the first and last tries of the game, Allison Koenig (Waukesha, Wisconsin) and Margot Vella (Leppington, Australia) each had back-to-back tries and Mikah Maples (Moweaqua, Illinois) also had a pair of tries.

The Bobcats travel North to Hanover, New Hampshire, next weekend for the NIRA Semifinals where they'll face the No. 2 seed Harvard Crimson for the chance to advance to the national championship game for a fourth consecutive season. Semifinal game times are set for 12 and 2 PM on Friday and all three games next weekend will appear on ESPN+

SCORING SUMMARY
- (Quinnipiac 7, Notre Dame 0) 7' – Roskopf got the scoring started for the Bobcats just seven minutes into the match as she muscled her way over the try line after taking the ball out of a ruck. Mckenna Haz (Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia) recorded a successful conversion despite kicking into the win
- (Quinnipiac 12, Notre Dame 0) 13' – Koening posted her first try of the game as she broke a few tackles and took off up the right sideline before sprinting across the try-line for the Bobcats second score of the game
- (Quinnipiac 17, Notre Dame 0) 21' – Koenig added her second try of the game as she received a great off-load pass from Roskopf after a run of about 20 yards. Koenig took off on her own run of about 30 yards and stiff-armed her way into the try zone
- (Quinnipiac 24, Notre Dame 0) 34' – Roskopf took off on a 50-yard sprint from deep in the Bobcats' defensive zone. As Roskopf was being tackled outside of the 22-meter line, she off-loaded the ball to Maples who took off and blew past the Falcons' last line of attack for the try to close out the first half scoring
- (Quinnipiac 29, Notre Dame 0) 45' – Vella posted her first of two second-half tries for the Bobcats as she received a pass behind the center line on the inside and scampered over 50 yards for the try, dodging numerous Notre Dame College players
- (Quinnipiac 34, Notre Dame 0) 59' – Vella added another try as the Bobcats won the ball in a scrum on the left side of the field and worked the ball across to the right before Vella dove across the try line for the goal.
- (Quinnipiac 39, Notre Dame 0) 67' – After the Bobcats retained possession on a Falcons' foul, Jordan Cowan (Oak Ridge, New Jersey) started the play with a quick tap-and-go before the ball was tossed over to Maples for the try
- (Quinnipiac 39, Notre Dame 5) 74' – The Falcons finally broke through after getting near the try line multiple times as NDC's Maggie Kowalik received a pass and sprinted to the left side of the try zone to put the Falcons on the board
- (Quinnipiac 46, Notre Dame 0) 77' – Roskopf closed out the scoring for the Bobcats as she received a quick pass from Maples on her right side to dart through an open lane into the try zone for the score.

NOTES
- The Bobcats honored the two members of their senior class Saturday afternoon, Emily Roskopf and Caitria Sands (Essex, Vermont)
- Maples' two tries gives her a team-leading 10 on the season after her impressive junior campaign
- Roskopf kept pace with Maples as she recorded two tries of her own to give her nine on the season
- Vella's two tries Saturday afternoon boosted her season total to seven
- Koenig added a pair of tries on the afternoon as well to give her six on the season
- Haz put home three conversions to boost her season total to 28 on the year, and she has now contributed to a team-high 65 points
- Quinnipiac reached the NIRA Semifinals for the fourth consecutive season
- With just five points allowed defensively, the Bobcats have now allowed single-digit points twice this season for the fourth consecutive season
