Perkins, Blum Each Net Two Goals as Bobcats Win Second Straight

PHILADELPHIA – Juniors Valerie Perkins (Mohegan Lake, New York) and Amanda Blum (Langhorne, Pennsylvania) each tallied a pair of goals Friday evening as the Quinnipiac field hockey team flew past the Temple Owls, 5-2, in the final BIG EAST game of the 2018 season.

The Bobcats recorded at least five goals for the second time this season while Perkins tallied a career-high five points in the victory. In total, seven different players recorded a point for Quinnipiac.

1:54 (Quinnipiac 1, Temple 0): Perkins opened up her incredible night with a tally in the first two minutes of Friday night's contest for her 3^rd of the season while Brooke Whipkey (Charlotte, North Carolina) picked up the helper.

Perkins tied the Quinnipiac single-game high this season with her five-point night while also recording career-highs with two goals and five points
Perkins matched Makayla Adams' (Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania) two-goal, five-point game from earlier this season in Quinnipiac's 6-1 win vs. Brown
Blum also recorded a career-high Friday night with her two-goal performance
She has recorded points in back-to-back games for the second time this season and has tallied points in four of her last five games
With their two-goal games, Blum and Perkins joined a five-way tie for the team-lead with four goals while Blum moved into a three-way tie with 11 points on the season
Quinnipiac has five players in double figures for the first time since the 2015 season when seven players had at least 10 points
Strubbe connected on her second goal in as many games as the Bobcats' graduate student recorded her second goal of the season
Whipkey tallied her third assist of the season on Perkins' first goal of the night to give her three assists on the season and join the three-way tie for the team lead in points and assists

Teicher tallied five saves to earn her sixth victory of the season. Her solid performance in goal lowered her GAA to 3.08 and raised her save percentage back up to .600 as the Bobcats' goalkeeper recorded her 60^th save
