Bobcats Conclude 2018 Season with Three-Game Winning Streak
WORCESTER, Mass. – Brooke Whipkey (Charlotte, North Carolina) scored the game-winning goal for the Quinnipiac field hockey team 2:29 into the overtime period Sunday afternoon to cap off a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Holy Cross.
Trailing 3-2 late in the second half, the Bobcats continued to push before finally breaking through to tie the game as Amanda Blum (Langhorne, Pennsylvania) one-timed home a centering feed from Bianka Strubbe (Wroclaw, Poland) on the right side of the circle to force overtime.
Whipkey broke through with the game-winning goal early in the overtime period for her second of the game and sixth of the season. With the win, the Bobcats conclude the season on a three-game winning streak.

- 27:35 (Quinnipiac 2, Holy Cross 0): Just over two minutes later, Whipkey put home her second goal of the game. After a cross from Bianka Strubbe (Wroclaw, Poland), Whipkey fired a beautiful reverse chip into the top corner for the goal
- 33:17 (Quinnipiac 2, Holy Cross 1): The Crusaders got a goal back just before the end of the first half as Keely Smith fired home a shot from the top of the circle to beat goalkeeper Hannah Teicher (Bethesda, Maryland)

NOTES
- The Bobcats wrapped up the 2018 season on a three-game winning streak, their longest winning streak since a three-game winning streak from Oct. 16-23, 2015.
- The three-game winning streak to wrap up the regular season is also the first time the Bobcats ended the regular season with three straight wins since 2013
- Whipkey scored two goals in a game for the first time in her career and her first game-winning goal
- She finished the season with a team-high six goals and 15 points
- Blum's game-tying goal was her fifth goal of the season as she finished second on the team with five goals and 13 points
- Blum ended the season with points in three straight games and five of her last six games. Over the final three games, Blum had three goals and an assist and in the final six games she had four goals and two assists for 10 points
- Strubbe scored a goal and added two assists for four points in her final collegiate game
- Strubbe wrapped up her collegiate career with goals in three straight games, scoring eight of her nine points in the final three games of the season
- Perkins picked up an assist as she wrapped up the season with six points over the final two games of the season
- van Winkel recorded an assist in the final game of the season, recording a point in each of the final two games
- Ines Ruiz Martinez (Madrid, Spain) tallied a defensive save in the season finale, ending the year with four defensive saves over the final two games and leads the nation with nine defensive saves
- Rachel Hamm (Collegeville, Pennsylvania) recorded a defensive save in the final game of the season
- Teicher made two saves in her final game as a Bobcat and wrapped up her senior season with seven wins
