Volleyball Edged by Marist in Tight Contest

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Despite coming back to tie the match, 1-1, the Quinnipiac volleyball team dropped a mid-week match against Marist, 3-1, on Wednesday night. Morgan Sherwin led the attack with 11 kills and three digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first set, the Bobcats started strong with a 7-4 lead over the Red Foxes, but Marist scored four points in a row to take an 8-7 lead. Later, Sherwin put the Bobcats back in front with a kill to take the score to 19-17. Marist scored the last four points of the set to win 25-23.
- The Bobcats led the entire second set and in the end, two kills from Sherwin and Lydia Jones gave Quinnipiac the 25-23 win to tie the match.
- The third set was a battle between the two team with seven ties. However, Marist went on a 6-1 run to secure the third set, 25-19.
- The last set was controlled by the Red Foxes as they jumped to a 13-3 lead. Marist would hold onto the lead and take the fourth set, 25-12.
- Sherwin recorded 11 kills with three digs.
- Maria Pansari tallied 33 assists.
- Kat Miller had three aces.
- Marist's Sarah Austin lead the team with 18 kills.
