PRINCETON, N.J. - Quinnipiac men's tennis returns to action on Thursday, traveling to New Jersey to compete in the 2018 ITA Regionals. Aleksa Martinovic, Alester Magalit, Axel Stern and Patrick Cachapero will all participate in qualifying singles action, Freddie Zaretsky is in the main draw singles event, and Axel Stern and Aleksa Martinovic are set to participate in the main draw doubles event.
Opponents: Army West Point, Binghamton, Boston College, Brown, Bryant, Buffalo, Colgate, Columbia, Connecticut, Cornell, Dartmouth, Delaware, Drexel, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Fordham, Harvard, Hofstra, La Salle, Lehigh, Marist, Monmouth, Niagara, NJIT, Penn, Princeton, Sacred Heart, St. Bonaventure, St. John's, Wagner and Yale.
ABOUT THE ITA REGIONALS
Princeton will host the ITA Northeast Regional for the first time since 2007 when the tournament begins Thursday at the Lenz Tennis Center, with Jadwin Gym set as the inclement weather location.

- Thursday, Oct. 11: Qualifying singles, two rounds, 64 players for 16 spots
- Friday, Oct. 12: Qualifying doubles (one round, eight teams for four spots), round-of-64 doubles, round-of-128 singles
- Saturday, Oct. 13: Round-of-32 doubles, round-of-16 doubles, round-of-64 singles, optional consolation singles
- Sunday, Oct. 14: Quarterfinal doubles, round-of-32 singles, round-of-16 singles
- Monday, Oct. 15: Semifinal doubles, quarterfinal singles, semifinal singles
- Tuesday, Oct. 16: Finals of singles and doubles

LAST TIME OUT
- The Bobcats cruised past Rider, 7-0, in its first MAAC match of 2018-19 this past Saturday afternoon in Hamden. Quinnipiac picked up victories in every match, sweeping the Broncs for the sixth-straight season.
- Aleksa Martinovic and Hielke Moore have both now won six singles contests so far in 2018.
- Alester Magalit ranks second on the team with four singles wins this year.
- Patrick Cachapero now has three singles wins – one in each event the Bobcats have participated in so far in 2018-19.
- Freddie Zaretsky and Austin Yannone both picked up their second singles victory of the year.
- The duo of Patrick Cachapero/Alester Magalit has now won three doubles matches in 2018-19.
- Axel Stern and Aleksa Martinovic have now won four doubles matches as a duo this year.
- Patrick Cachapero (Loma Linda, CA) returns for his junior season with the Bobcats after earning All-MAAC Second Team honors in No. 1 doubles in 2017-18. Cachapero, also a MAAC All-Academic Team selection, went 5-2 in singles and 4-1 in doubles during MAAC play last year.
- Hielke Moore (Fredericton, New Brunswick) was an All-MAAC Second Team selection for No. 6 singles as a freshman in 2017-18. He went 5-2 in singles, and 4-1 in doubles during MAAC action.
- Axel Stern (Tustin, CA) earned All-MAAC Second Team status as a sophomore in 2017-18. Stern, also an All-Academic honoree, went 6-1 in both singles and doubles during MAAC action. His 17 overall singles wins were the second-most on the team.
- Austin Yannone (Severna Park, MD) went 2-2 in singles and 4-2 in doubles during conference play last year. He was also named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
- Freddie Zaretsky (Fair Lawn, NJ) went 5-8 in singles and 9-7 in doubles last year as a junior. He went 2-0 during doubles action in MAAC play.
- Quinnipiac has added four newcomers to its 2018-19 roster. Jack Alexander, Alester Magalit, Aleksa Martinovic and Bryan Schick will all join the Bobcats as freshman this season.
- Chris Pappas enters his fifth season as the head coach of the Quinnipiac men's tennis team in 2018-19, after three impressive seasons at the helm of the program. Pappas is a two-time MAAC Coach of the Year selection, and has helped guide the Bobcats to a 17-4 record in league play during his first three seasons.
- In 2016-17, Pappas and the Bobcats won a program-record 16 contests. During that season, the Bobcats also claimed a share of their first MAAC Regular Season Championship in program history, and first overall regular season championship since the 2005-06 season when the Bobcats were in the NEC.
- The Bobcats went 9-10 during the 2017-18 season, going 6-1 in MAAC play.
- Quinnipiac advanced to the semifinal round of the MAAC Tournament, falling vs. No. 3 Marist, 5-1, on April 28, 2018.
