NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac volleyball team saw its three-match win streak snapped as it fell on the road to MAAC co-leader Niagara 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center.

MATCH NOTES
- Quinnipiac was playing without senior Elizabeth Kloos (Munster, Ind.) and junior Jen Coffey (Merrimack, N.H.), who did not dress due to injury. Kloos (771) and Coffey (757) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, on Quinnipiac's career kills list at the Division I level.
- Another key hitter, junior right side Kat Miller (Collegeville, Pa.), only played on the back row due to injury and did not have an attack, leaving the Bobcats without three of their top four attacking options.
- Sophomore middle hitter Kaleigh Oates (Downington, Pa.) had a career-high nine kills for the Bobcats. She had seven kills in nine attempts (.778) in the first two sets and finished hitting .533 (9-1-15)
- Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Alechko (Old Tappan, N.J.) led the Bobcats with 15 kills and eight digs.
- After falling in the first set 25-14, the Bobcats started the second with a 3-0 lead after two straight kills from Alechko, but Niagara answered back with two 4-0 runs to take an 8-5 lead.
- Niagara took a 20-12 lead in the second, but Quinnipiac used a 4-0 run to get to within 20-16 on a kill from senior Jamie Termotto (Smithtown, N.Y.) and then got within 22-20 after an Alechko kill.
- Quinnipiac played its best in the third set, leading by as many as five (12-7) after an Oates kill.
- Niagara rallied back to tie the third 14-14, but Quinnipiac answered back with a 3-0 run to take a 17-14 lead on an ace from sophomore libero Alejandra Rodtiguez (Toa Alta, P.R.). Niagara didn't take its first lead of the set until 21-20, and closed out on a 3-0 run after the Bobcats tied the score 22-22.
- Quinnipiac did not have a block until midway through the third, when Oates and freshman Morgan Sherwin (Coplay, Pa.) combined for its only one.
- Niagara picked up its seventh win in a row, five in MAAC play, and faces Fairfield tomorrow in a battle for first place.
