WASHINGTON, District of Columbia – The Quinnipiac field hockey team took home its first BIG EAST victory of 2017 with a 2-1 win over the Georgetown Hoyas Friday afternoon. The Bobcats were led offensively by Anna Walmsley (Glasgow, Scotland) and Lauren Belskie (Hillsborough, New Jersey), who each picked up goals for Quinnipiac.

NOTES

Walmsley became the eighth different Bobcat to score a goal this season. Her goal, which gave Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead, was her first of the season and the first of her Bobcat career.
Dayna Barlow (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) picked up her second assist of the season on Walmsley's goal. Barlow now has six points on the season for Quinnipiac.
Belskie struck for her second goal of the season with 31 minutes to play in the game to give the Bobcats the 2-0 lead. The goal would stand as the game winner.
Rachel Hamm (Collegeville, Pennsylvania) recorded her first point of 2017 with an assist on Belskie's goal.
