LAST TIME VS THE PURPLE EAGLES
The last time Quinnipiac took on Niagara, the Bobcats won in dominating fashion, 7-0, on senior day. The win gave Quinnipiac its 10th of the season at the time, which was its second consecutive 10-win season after going four straight years without hitting the double digit win plateau. In addition, Quinnipiac also clinched consecutive 10-win campaigns for the first time since 2004-06.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE EAGLES
Niagara owns a 2-2 record and having not played a dual match in the MAAC yet. The Purple Eagles started their season with an 8-1 win over Daemen College, before losing two straight matches to Youngstown State and Cleveland State. Niagara was able to bounce back and win its last match against Oberlin College, 4-2.
SCOUTING THE BULLS
Boston University holds a 2-3 record without playing a Mid-Atlantic Conference match yet. The Bulls started the dual season with consecutive losses against Cornell and Yale, before bouncing back to defeat Brown. Buffalo then fell in a loss against Columbia, then got back on track to defeat Army West Point in its most recent match.
KEI COUNTER
Ezaka comes into the matchup with 127 career wins which ties for third with James Kwei '12 on the program all-time wins list. Ezaka is four wins away from tying Eric Ambrosio '15 for second on the program all-time wins list and is 10 wins away from tying John Hughes '10 program-record of 137 wins.
MAAC MANIA
In the Bobcats' two MAAC dual matches, they have gone 18-0 in competition. The team has posted a 12-0 record in singles play against MAAC opponents and 6-0 in doubles competition.
NO PROBLEMS AT NO. 1
The Bobcats have thrived in the No. 1 doubles draw, going 4-1 so far on the season from the No. 1 doubles spot.
ALL GOOD FROM SPOT 2
The Bobcats have also had major success from the No. 2 spot in doubles matches, going 4-1 in the draw as well.
RACE TO 10
The Bobcats have seven players that are four or less singles wins away from 10 on the season. Ezaka leads the Bobcats with nine wins. Austin Yannone (Severna Park, Maryland), Axel Stern (Tustin, California) and Julian Rozenstein (Marlboro, New Jersey) have eight wins apiece. Freddie Zaretsky (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) has seven wins, while Patrick Cachapero (Loma Linda, California) and Jackson Koke (Calgary, Alberta) both have six wins.
LUCKY NO. 2
No matter if it is a singles or doubles match, Rozenstein is undefeated (3-0) in matches where he is competing in the No. 2 draw.
THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
Stern has had the same success, because in matches where he is in the No. 3 draw, he is undefeated (3-0) as well.
