QU Women's Golf Completes First Round of Yale Intercollegiate Tournament

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac University women's golf team completed the first round of the 2017 Yale Women's Intercollegiate tournament in 14^th place out of 15 teams at The Course at Yale. The Bobcats combined to shoot a 309 (+25) for the first 18 holes of the tournament.

Junior Luciana Tobia-Palza was the Bobcats' top finisher for the afternoon with a 74 (+3). Tobia-Palza opened the day event the first nine holes, highlighted by a birdie on No.1 6. She birdied hole No. 4 before finishing at +3 for the front nine.

Estefania Morales (Caracas, Venezuela) and Julia Kemmling (Berlin, Connecticut) both shot a 77 (+6) to tie for 39^th place out of 91 golfers. Morales birdied three of her first six holes to hit the turn in second place at -2. The front nine proved difficult for all of the Bobcats' golfers, and handed Morales seven bogeys. Kemmling was +1 through the back nine before finishing at six-over for the day after shooting par of 11 of the 18 holes.
