Nationally-ranked No. 17 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey returns to action when it hosts Arizona State for a two-game series on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28 at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center, with both non-conference games set for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

THE BOBCATS LAST TIME OUT
• Quinnipiac sat idle last week following a weekend split against Colgate and Cornell. The Bobcats opened the weekend with a 4-1 win against the Raiders on Friday, Jan. 13 before falling to nationally-ranked No. 19 Cornell, 2-1, on Saturday, Jan. 14.
• Andrew Shortridge (Alaska, Anchorage) had a solid weekend with a 24-save outing on Friday night before following stopping 29 of Cornell's 31 shots on goal in a hard-luck loss on Saturday night.
• Craig Martin (Trail, British Columbia) had a point in each game with an assist against Colgate while also accounting Quinnipiac's lone tally in the loss to Cornell. Martin has five points - two goals and three assists - in his last three games.
• Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) had an assist in both games while Karlis Cukste (Riga, Latvia) dished out a pair against Colgate. Brogan Rafferty (Dundee, Illinois) also had an assist in both games and now has a point in three-straight.

ALL-TIME AGAINST ARIZONA STATE
• Quinnipiac and Arizona State have played once before, with the Bobcats taking a 5-0 decision at High Point Solutions Arena on Oct. 15, 2015.
• In that game, Thomas Aldworth had two goals and an assist while Sam Anas, Travis St. Denis and Devon Toews also scored for the Bobcats.

SCOUTING THE ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS
• Arizona State is currently in its second season of NCAA Division I competition after posting a 5-22-2 record in 2015-16.
• ASU heads into its weekend match-up against the Bobcats with a record of 9-17-2 overall.
• The Sun Devils are coming off a two-game sweep of NCAA Division II Southern New Hampshire University following a four-game buzz-saw against Top-10 programs Denver and Ohio State, as well as a match-up against St. Cloud State, in which they posted an 0-4-1 record.
• Robbie Baillargeon, previously with Boston University, leads Arizona St. in goals (9), assists (11) and points (20). With BU last season, Baillargeon had a goal in an assist to help the Terriers to a 4-1 win against the Bobcats on Dec. 12, 2015.
• Wade Murphy and Anthony Croston have both totaled seven goals and 11 assists each while Tyler Busch has scored eight goals and assisted on 10 more for 18 points.
• Robert Levin has seen the majority of the minutes in goal for ASU, posting a 5-4-2 record with a 3.16 goals-against average and a .545 save percentage.

LAND(ON) OF OPPORTUNITY
• Quinnipiac junior Landon Smith has scored twice and assisted on eight more goals for nine points in the Bobcats' last 10 games.
• For the year, Smith leads the Bobcats with 18 points on six goals and 12 assists.
• Smith currently leads Quinnipiac with 13 points in 15 ECAC Hockey games, highlighted by five goals and eight assists.
• For his career, Smith has scored 33 goals and assisted on 53 more for 86 points in 106 career games.

DOWN THE DUANE
• Junior transfer Kevin Duane, who joined Quinnipiac before the 2015-16 season but sat-out the season after leaving Boston University, has scored four goals and assisted on four more this year, all coming in the last nine games.

HEAVY CLIFTON
• Tim Clifton currently leads Quinnipiac in goals (10), power-play goals (5) and game-winning goals (3) and is second with 16 points
• Clifton also checks-in with a team-best seven goals in 13 ECAC Hockey games and joins Landon Smith as the only two players to reach double-figures in points (10) in league play to date.
• In 140 career games, Clifton has accumulated 41 goals and 46 assists for 87 points - most of any active Quinnipiac player.

BO KNOWS
• Junior Bo Pieper is second on the Bobcats roster with eight goals to date, to go-along with five assists for 13 points.
• Pieper has scored in eight different games, the most in the Bobcats' line-up.

LIFE OF THE MARTY
• Sophomore Craig Martin found the back of the net with a power-play goal against No. 6 Boston College on Thursday, Dec. 29. It was Martin's first goal since Nov. 26 against Vermont at the Friendship Four in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
• Martin's eight goals this season are a career-best and rank second in Quinnipiac's line-up.
• Against Dartmouth, Craig Martin posted his second three-point game of the season with a goal and two assists. He's tied with Landon Smith for the most three-point games in the Bobcats' line-up.
• Martin has now scored twice and assisted on three more goals for five points in his last three games.

BIG MAC
• Tanner MacMaster scored in his second consecutive game when he put Quinnipiac on the board against BC on Dec. 29. FOr the year, MacMaster has accumulated six goals and three assists for nine points.

NO SHORT CHANGE
• Quinnipiac freshman goalie Andrew Shortridge improved to 4-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 against ECAC Hockey with a weekend split against Colgate (win) and Cornell (loss). Shortridge's loss to Cornell was his first against an ECAC Hockey oppenent this year.
• In eight ECAC Hockey games, Shortridge is 3-1-0 with a 1.70 GAA and a .943 save percentage.

THE CHASE IS ON
• Sophomore Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) had an assist against Colgate and Cornell last weekend and his fifth point in his last six games.
• For the year, Priskie is second in the Bobcats' line-up in points (16) and assists (14).

ACTIVE CAREER LEADERS
• Tim Clifton's 19 career power play goals rank second among all active NCAA Division I men's ice hockey student-athletes behind Omaha's Austin Ortega (21).
• Clifton also ranks tied for 26th with 86 career points on 41 goals and 45 assists in 133 career games. His 41 career goals are tied for 17th among active players.
• Clifton is also one of 14 active players with 40 goals and 40 assists for his career.
• Clifton's 11 game-winning goals are tied for third among active players.
• Clifton is one of 33 players with three or more shorthanded goals for his career.
• Landon Smith is one of four non-seniors ranked among the top 29 active career scorers. Smith's 84 points have come on the strength of 32 goals and 53 assists.
