
Luciana Tobia Sits in 7th Place at Bearcat Spring Classic

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Florida – The Quinnipiac University women's golf team completed the second day of the Bearcat Spring Classic in 14th place. Quinnipiac improved by 10 strokes from the first day of the three-round tournament, led by freshman Luciana Tobia (La Paz, Bolivia), who sits tied for seventh place.
Tobia opened the tournament with a +8, 80 on Friday, but shed five strokes to finish with a 75 (+3) on Saturday. Tobia opened her day with pars on nine of her first 10 holes of the day, with a lone bogey on the Par 5 Hole No. 15. She also bogeyed on Holes 5 and 6 before finishing her day at +1 on the back nine and +2 on the front.
Julie Kemmling (Berlin, Connecticut) and Estefania Morales (Caracas, Venezuela) also improved on their first-day scores. Kemmling bounced back from a +12 on Friday with a +8 (80) on Saturday afternoon while Morales improved by five strokes to finish at +9 for the second day of the tournament. The duo were both +4 on the front nine, with Kemmling birdying on Hole No. 8 while Morales also had a birdie on her first hole of the day.
Quinnipiac completes play at the Bearcat Spring Classic on Sunday, Mar. 26 with the final 18 holes at El Campeon Golf Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
