HANOVER, New Hampshire – Quinnipiac women's tennis player Rachel Horton (Stamford, Connecticut) lost her second round match at the ITA Northeast Regional hosted by Dartmouth College Saturday morning to end the 2015 fall season for the Bobcats.
Horton took the court against the University of Pennsylvania's No. 17 seed Kana Daniel in the second round of the singles main draw. After dropping the first set, Horton won two games as she attempted a comeback to force a third period but came up short to Daniel, 6-0, 6-2.
Despite the loss, Horton is tied with freshman Proyfon Lohaphaisan (Santa Clarita, California) for the most overall wins (21), doubles wins (14) and singles wins (7) on the team as they head into the spring season, beginning in the final days of January.
The Quinnipiac women's tennis team will have three months off before returning to the courts on Jan. 30 and 31 when they will compete in a 4+1 match hosted by UConn, with Buffalo and Bryant joining the match. It will begin at 9 A.M. each day with the matches being played at the East Hartford Racquet Club.
