
Former QU Women's Ice Hockey Forward Erica Uden Johansson Named to Swedish National Team for Four Nations Cup

JOHANNESHOV, Sweden – Former Quinnipiac women's ice hockey forward Erica Uden Johansson has been named to the Swedish National Team for the Four Nations Cup in Sundsvall, Sweden, as announced by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Uden Johansson has been heavily involved with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association for several years, dating back to her time with the U-18 National Team. She has played with the national team since the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia where Sweden finished in fourth place.
In her career, she has played in two Olympics and has made three world championship appearances for Team Sweden. Uden Johansson has scored one goal in each of the five tournaments and has totaled five goals and three assists for eight points in major tournaments with the Swedish National Team.
This season with the IF Sundsvall, Uden Johansson has tallied five goals and one assists for six points in 10 games played while playing in the Women's National Swedish League (Riksserien).
In her career with the Bobcats from 2010-2015, Uden Johansson racked up 42 goals and 54 assists for 96 points in 125 games. Uden Johansson became one of just two players in program history to tally at least 40 goals and 40 assists in her career, joining former player Kelly Babstock as the only other player to achieve the feat. Uden Johansson never tallied fewer than 10 goals or 10 assists in a season, and recorded 25 points in three of her four seasons with the Bobcats.
Uden Johansson and Sweden open up play at the Four Nations Cup on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 1:30 PM EST (7:30 PM local time) against the United States at Sundsvall Energi Arena in Sundsvall, Sweden, where Uden Johansson will be put up against for Quinnipiac women's ice hockey teammate Shiann Darkangelo. Sweden will then move on to face Finland the following day, Thursday, Nov. 5 at 12:30 PM EST (6:30 PM local time) at Njurunda Ishall in Njurunda, Sweden before a day off on Friday. Competition will pick up once against on Saturday, Nov. 7 where Sweden will face the defending Four Nations Cup champions Canada at 7:00 AM EST (1:00 PM local time) at Sundsvall Energi Arena in the final preliminary round game. The medal round will be played on Sunday, Nov. 8 with the bronze medal game slated for 5:00 AM EST (11:00 AM local time) while the gold medal game is set for 8:30 AM (2:30 PM local time).
