ANNAPOLIS, Maryland - Quinnipiac women's golf freshman Estefania Morales (Caracas, Venezuela) turned in a team-best 77 on the final day of the Chesapeake Bay Invitational as the Bobcats finished 13th out of 15 teams at the Naval Academy Golf Course.
Morales' 77 was Quinnipiac lowest round of the three-day tournament. The first-year Bobcat trimmed twelve strokes off her previous round score to finish as the Bobcats' third highest scorer. Morales birdied her first hole (16) before shooting par on the 17th hole. She then bogeyed her next four holes before shooting par or better on eight of her final 10 holes, including another birdie on the 14th hole. Morales' three birdies for the tournament led Quinnipiac for the three-day event.
Three of the Bobcats' five golfers saw improvements on their scores from the second and third rounds, most notable Angelica Muscatelli (North Providence, Rhode Island) who shaved 15 strokes off her second round score to card an 88 for the final round. In addition, Alexa Gentile (Avon, Connecticut) shot an 85 to bounce back from a second round 89 on Saturday.
