
Softball's Jordan Paolucci Named Akadema/NEC Rookie of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. -
Quinnipiac softball freshman Jordan
Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) was named Akadema/Northeast
Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on
Monday, April 11.
Paolucci earns her
first career NEC weekly accolade after leading the Bobcats to a 6-2
mark in conference play last week. The freshman started in all five
of Quinnipiac's games and helped the team pick up three conference
wins over the weekend. Paolucci led all Bobcats with a .500
batting average, a .571 on base percentage and a .944 slugging
percentage. The rookie went 9-for-18, scored a team-high six runs
and drove in three runs for Quinnipiac. Paolucci also hit two home
runs, increasing her season total to eight, and added two stolen
bases against Wagner.
Paolucci currently leads Quinnipiac with a .337 batting average on
the year, in runs (27) and RBI (19). She also leads all Bobcats in
slugging percentage (.653) and on base percentage (.492). In
addition, the freshman outfielder has been successful on 7-of-8
steal attempts this season.
Quinnipiac (22-16,
6-2 NEC) returns to action when it plays host to Fairfield on
Wednesday, April 13 at 3:30 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Softball Field
in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats will then face Long Island and Central
Connecticut State in back-to-back NEC doubleheaders over the
weekend. Quinnipiac currently is tied with Central Connecticut
State in first place in the conference standings.
