HAMDEN,
Conn. - Quinnipiac University men's and women's head soccer
coaches, Eric Da Costa and Dave Clarke, attended the United States
match-up against Argentina at Giants Stadium on Saturday, March 26,
as VIP guests of Kwik Goal, one of the national team's
sponsors.
Both coaches attended a special pre-game event hosted by US Soccer
President, Sunil Gulati, and attended by high-ranking soccer
officials, players and other notable people within the game.
Approximately 80,000 fans attended the game, which is the largest
attendance for a soccer match at the New Meadow Lands Stadium. Fans
came to see one of the world's top soccer players, Lionel Messi,
take on the USA in an exhibition game. The USA earned a credible
1-1 draw against the former two-time world champions.
