
Women's Tennis Defeats Bryant, 4-3

Conn. - Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.), Juliet Labarthe
(Oklahoma City, Okla.) and Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) each
earned double wins as the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team
defeated Bryant, 4-3, Saturday afternoon on the Quinnipiac Outdoor
Tennis Courts. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 7-6 (2-0 NEC),
while the Bulldogs fall to 6-8 (3-2 NEC).
Labarthe extended her singles winning streak to 10 consecutive matches with a 6-3, 6-1, victory against Stephanie Smyers at No. 3. She also paired with Viebrock to defeat Smyers and Lucy Bird, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles. Viebrock completed her double win with a 6-0, 6-3, win against May Vickers at No. 4 singles.
Markison paired with Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.) to defeat Valeria Couto Cuervo and Vickers, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles. Markison then defeated Bird, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.
The Bobcats return to action Sunday, when they travel south on Interstate 91 to face Yale. First serve from the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center is scheduled for 10 a.m.
