HAVEN, Conn. - The nationally-ranked No. 28 Yale University
women's tennis team defeated Quinnipiac, 7-0, Sunday morning at the
Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. With the sweep, Quinnipiac freshman
Juliet Labarthe's (Oklahoma City, Okla.) 10-match singles winning
streak was snapped as the Bobcats fall to 7-7. The Bulldogs improve
to 14-3 with the win.
The Bulldogs took all three doubles flights, winning 8-3, at No. 1, 8-1 at No. 2 and 8-4 at No. 3. Labarthe put up the strongest fight in singles for the Bobcats, falling 7-5, 6-2, to Stephanie Kent at No. 3.
The Bobcats return to action Wednesday, when they travel to face intrastate rival Fairfield. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
