The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team lost to Lehigh University, 2-0, in a nonconference game in Bethlehem, Pa. The Bobcats open the year at 0-1 while Lehigh starts the season at 1-0.
Despite outshooting Lehigh, 9-7, over two halves, Quinnipac failed to score in 90 minutes. Quinnipiac's Chloe Beizer (Great Falls, Va.), a transfer from Yale University, finished with two saves while allowing one goal.
For Lehigh, Glynn Fitzer scored in the 15th minute of regulation on an assist from Liz Carlos. Carlos would pick up her second assist of the game on a pass to Lena Cannon in the 70th minute.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 2 when they travel to Jersey City, N.J. to take on St. Peter's in a nonconference match-up set for 1 p.m.
