MAAC Player of the Week (3/9/16)
As a Senior in 2015-16:
-Named to the All-MAAC First Team for the first time at No. 5 singles
-Named the MAAC Player of the Week on March 9
-Won a Division I program record 42 matches this season, breaking Eric Ambrosio’s previous record of 40
-Went 42-16 in his final season to become the sixth player in program history to win 100 matches
-Won a single-season program record 26 doubles matches, breaking James Kwei’s (2011) previous record 24 doubles wins
-His 116 career wins rank fifth in program history while his 61 career singles wins are tied for second and his 55 doubles wins are tied for sixth
-Posted an 11-2 record in MAAC play, going 5-1 at singles and 6-1 at doubles
-Recorded 12 straight doubles wins in the fall season
-Won Flight “B” Doubles Title with Freddie Zaretsky at Connecticut State Championship
-Won Flight “A” Doubles Championship with Willem van Biezen at UConn Invitational
As a Junior in 2014-15:
-Posted the best season of his career with a 29-27 record, including a career-high 19-13 record in singles and tied his career-high for doubles wins with a 10-14 mark
-Improved his overall record to 74-90 in his career with a 45-41 mark in singles and 29-49 record in doubles
-Went 7-7 in conference play, with a 4-3 record in singles and 3-4 record in doubles
-Won Flight “C” Singles Championship at Quinnipiac Invitational from Oct. 3 to 5
As a Sophomore in 2013-14:
-Posted a 20-29 record overall; including an 11-14 record in singles and a 9-15 record in doubles
-Finished his sophomore year with a 45-63 career record; including a 26-28 record in singles and a 19-35 record in doubles
-Went 5-9 overall in conference matches with a 2-5 record in singles and a 3-4 record in doubles
-Won Consolation Flight B doubles with Alain Grullon at Quinnipiac Invitational
As a Freshman in 2012-13:
-Posted a 25-34 record overall in his first year with the program
-Finished with a 15-14 record in singles and a 10-20 record in doubles
-Went a combined 8-5 in conference matches; 4-2 in singles and 4-3 in doubles
-Defeated Eric Pierce in the NEC Quarterfinals at #4 singles to help Quinnipiac advance to the semifinals
-Also partnered with Sebastian Barbero to defeat a tandem from Monmouth University, 8-1, in the NEC Quarterfinals
Before Quinnipiac:
-A four-time letter-winner for the Bernard’s High School tennis team
-Named to the All-Country First Team three times
-Led the Mountaineers to two Group Section Championships
