Bean joined the Bobcats’ men's and women’s tennis programs as an assistant coach prior to the 2018-19 season. He just completed his second season on the Quinnipiac staff in 2019-20.
Bean's return to Hamden is his third stint with the Quinnipiac program. He played his collegiate tennis with the Bobcats from 1998-2002, then served as Assistant Coach/Head Recruiter of the men's tennis program from 2010-13.
With more than a decade of experience in coaching/instructing, Bean has immersed himself in the Connecticut tennis scene. He most recently served as Director of Tennis/Head Tennis Professional at Lake Naomi Club in Pocono Pines, PA, creating, organizing and instructing junior development tennis programs of all levels.
Bean has also spent the last three years serving as Director of Development at Milford Indoor Tennis, overseeing the five-court facility and managing junior program development. In the past, he's served as a Tennis Professional at Trumbull Racquet Club and Tennis Club of Trumbull.
Bean graduated from Quinnipiac with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He currently resides in North Haven with his wife, former Quinnipiac women's tennis student-athlete Kim Piazza Bean, his son, Oliver, and his daughter, Scarlett.
