Kevin Noonan joined the Quinnipiac Athletic Communications staff as an assistant director in July 2018, returning to his alma mater after a two-year stint at Colgate. He is the primary contact for men's ice hockey, field hockey, baseball and acrobatics & tumbling.
During his first time at Quinnipiac, he led the campaign of three Hobey Baker Top 10 Finalists in Chase Priskie in 2019, and Odeen Tufto and Keith Petruzzelli in 2021. He also led the promotion of the baseball team to its first MAAC Championship in program history and first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005.
Over his two years with Colgate in Hamilton, New York, Noonan was the primary contact for 10 sports including the nationally-ranked men's and women's ice hockey programs.
In his time at Colgate, Noonan spearheaded the promotion of goaltender Colton Point as a Hobey Baker Top 10 Finalist and finished first in the fan vote, garnering over 10 percent of all votes cast. Noonan also had an important role in the promotion of the women’s ice hockey team throughout its best season in program history, culminated by an appearance in its first national championship game.
Noonan has been involved with various sports on the national and conference level as well in his career as he served on the media relations staff at three NCAA Ice Hockey Frozen Fours from 2017-19 in Chicago, St. Paul and Buffalo. He also served as an official scorer at the 2017 ECAC Hockey Championship weekend in Lake Placid. He was a member of the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Awards Committee in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Noonan is no stranger to Quinnipiac as he was a graduate assistant in the athletic communications office for two years from 2014-16. He served as the primary contact for women’s hockey, baseball and tennis for two years. He also was the secondary contact for men’s hockey for both years, including its run to the ECAC Hockey title and NCAA Frozen Four in 2016. Noonan was honored by Quinnipiac University as the Graduate Student Employee of the Year for 2015-16.
As an undergraduate student at Quinnipiac, Noonan served as chairman of the Quinnipiac Bobcat Sports Network during the 2013-14 school year after two years in the organization. He oversaw the entire 30-member staff while hosting radio and TV shows, as well as providing play-by-play and color commentary for 13 Quinnipiac sports during his time. In addition to being on air, Noonan wrote game recaps and feature stories for their website and magazine. During his three summers as an undergraduate, Noonan was the play-by-play voice and media coordinator of the Mystic Schooners in the NECBL.
Noonan holds two degrees from Quinnipiac, graduating with his B.A. in Journalism in 2014 and with a MBA in 2016. He was a member of the communications honors society, Lambda Pi Eta.
A long-time resident of North Stonington, Connecticut, Noonan currently resides in Hamden. He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
