Neil McKenney enters his third season as the Director of Operations for the Men’s Ice Hockey team. His role with the Bobcats includes video breakdown and analysis, pre-scouting opponents, and managing the team’s travel and meal schedules.
McKenney comes to Quinnipiac with experience in video/analytics with the National Hockey League’s Buffalo Sabres. He has a depth of hockey knowledge highlighted by several years working with the Sabres. McKenney's most recent experience was working within the Sabres' hockey department for two seasons. His day-to-day responsibilities included: preparing video pre-scouts for upcoming opponents; traveling with the team on all road games to work with coaching staff on game-day prep; working alongside coaches and player development staff to run drills; and tracking game and team stats throughout the season. Before becoming a full-time Sabres' employee in May 2013, he interned with the Sabres' scouting department and video coach.
In addition to being noted for video analysis proficiency, McKenney has worked as a player development coach for IPH hockey and served as an instructor/coach at a number of USA Hockey New England District camps.
McKenney graduated from the Sacred Heart University, where he was a four-year letter winner on the Pioneers hockey team and received a double-major BS in Finance and Sport Management. McKenney also served as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory committee during his senior year.
