Cupo Earns Offensive Player of the Week Honors

HAMDEN, Conn. – For the second time this season, Morgan Cupo was named the Metro Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, September 14th.
Morgan Cupo picked up five points in Quinnipiac's 4-1 win over the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers on Saturday in Maryland. Cupo picked up a secondary assist on Isabella Torelli's goal in the ninth minute. Less than a minute later, Cupo got back on the scoresheet, netting her sixth goal of the season to put the Bobcats up three. After the Mountaineers cut it to a two-goal game to close out the opening half, Cupo scored her second goal of the game to seal the win for the Bobcats.
Cupo has recorded a brace in three straight contests and now leads the team with seven goals and 15 points. The graduate student also leads the Metro Conference in points and is tied for the league lead in goals. Cupo ranks fourth in the nation in goals per game (1.17), 15th in total goals (7), and 29th in points (15), while also being in a tie for the national lead in penalty kick percentage (1.000).
Cupo and the Bobcats are back in action this Saturday, September 19th as they welcome the Marist Red Foxes to Hamden. Kickoff from the Quinnipiac Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium is slated for noon and can be seen on GoBobcats.com.
