Bleier's Late OT Goal Lifts Bobcats Past Hofstra

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac field hockey team earned a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over Hofstra on Friday afternoon.
The Pride opened the scoring early in the first quarter, but the Bobcats answered minutes later as Rozemarijn Van Keulen scored her second goal of the season. Martina Calveira earned the assist, extending her assist streak to three consecutive games.
Strong goalkeeping and defensive efforts kept the score tied at 1-1 through the final three quarters, sending Quinnipiac to its first overtime contest of the season.
With just 41 seconds remaining in the extra period, Ava Bleier capitalized on a loose ball in front to score the game-winning goal, securing the Bobcats' second victory of the season. The tally marked Bleier's second goal in as many games.
Meike van Schoot earned her second win, making two saves in goal.
