Grant Randall Sinks Game-Winner, Men's Hoops Wins 3rd Straight

HAMDEN, Conn. – Grant Randall knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer with three seconds remaining on Saturday afternoon at M&T Bank Arena, sending Quinnipiac men's basketball home with a 56-55 victory over Niagara.
Amarri Monroe drove toward the basket, then kicked the ball out to Randall – who sunk the triple in the final moments.
With the win, the Bobcats move to 10-5 in MAAC play with five regular-season contests remaining.
Amarri Monroe finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Grant Randall tallied 10 points and eight rebounds. Keith McKnight added 11 points and seven boards off the bench.

Quinnipiac also celebrated its 2026 Alumni Day at the contest. The Bobcats' honored all former student-athletes in attendance at halftime, taking a group photo with Senior Associate AD Bill Mecca.

Quinnipiac led 36-24 at the end of the first half. The Bobcats shot 11-of-31 over the first 20 minutes (35.5%). Amarri Monroe registered nine points and seven rebounds during the first half of play.
The Purple Eagles would bounce back, though, surging over the first 10 minutes of the second half to cut into the deficit and eventually take the lead. Niagara's Drew Larson made a 3-pointer with 9:58 left in regulation, giving the Purple Eagles the 46-44 lead at the time.
The two teams then went back-and-forth for the final 10 minutes all the way down to the wire.
There were only three made field goals over the last four minutes of the game. Will Shortt made a layup for Niagara with 3:24 left to make it 53-51 Quinnipiac, then Landon Williams knocked down a 3-pointer with 57 seconds left to give the Purple Eagles the lead.
The Bobcats would get the ball back down two. Amarri Monroe dribbled up the right side of the floor, attacked the pain, then kicked it to the other side of the floor to find an open Grant Randall in the corner. The sophomore knocked down the triple in front of the Quinnipiac bench to send the Bobcats home with the win.
Jaden Zimmerman led QU with seven points during the second half, while Amarri Monroe added six. Grant Randall grabbed eight rebounds during the second half in addition to his game-winning three.

Quinnipiac will now head to Siena for a matchup on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7:00 PM from MVP Arena in Albany, NY.
The Bobcats' next home contest will take place on Sunday, Feb. 15 vs. Merrimack.

- Reigning MAAC Player of the Year Amarri Monroe finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, good for his 11th double-double of the season. The senior from Newburgh, New York has eight double-doubles in 15 MAAC games. Monroe also grabbed three more steals, increasing his league-leading average to 2.4 steals per game.
- Keith McKnight added 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench in the win. The first-year Bobcat went 4-for-11 from the floor.
