HAMDEN, Conn. –The Quinnipiac men's tennis team hosts Illinois State University on Friday morning before traveling to West Point, N.Y. to face FDU and Army on Sunday.
Matches are set to begin at 11:30 a.m on Friday, and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS STATE
- This is the first time in program history Quinnipiac will be meeting the Redbirds.
- Illinois State is 3-4 on the season, recently falling to Northwestern 4-0.
- The team of Tin Ostro / Caden Scarlett have picked up four doubles wins for the Redbirds. Ostro and Scarlett have each won four of their respective singles matches as well.
SCOUTING FDU
- This is the 21st all-time matchup against the Knights, with FDU leading 12-8.
- The Knights enter the weekend with a 1-4 record, recently defeating Saint Francis 6-1 on Feb 15.
- Senior Gryffin Minor has picked up three singles matches and three doubles matches for the Knights so far this season.
SCOUTING ARMY
- West Point enters the weekend with a 7-1 record, recently dropping a close 4-2 decision against Air Force.
- Freshman Jimin Jung was named the Patriot League Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Feb. 10. Jung is 3-0 in singles this season, playing all his matches in the top two spots.
LAST TIME OUT
- Quinnipiac fell to Boston University 5-2 on Feb. 14.
- Carlos Braun Simo picked up two wins for the Bobcats in his singles match and doubles match with partner Alessandro Sciacca. Braun Simo has won two singles matches and three doubles matches this season.
ITA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
- The teams of Carlos Braun Simo / Elias Hoxha & Finn Burridge / Alessandro Sciacca each won their respective doubles matchups to advance to the round of 64.
- Carlos Braun Simo won his main draw singles consolation match, defeating Ethan Chung (Yale): 7-5, 7-6 (9-7).
BACK-TO-BACK MAAC CHAMPS
- Quinnipiac men's tennis won its second straight MAAC title this past season, defeating Rider 4-1 in the championship.
- Elias Hoxha was named Most Outstanding Performer for his clinch in the win over Rider.
- In the semifinal, QU defeated Niagara 4-1.
- The Bobcats returned to their second straight NCAA Tournament, falling to No. 23 Clemson 4-0.
ALL-MAAC SELECTIONS
- The Bobcats return All-MAAC selections Elias Hoxha, Carlos Braun Simo, and Finn Burridge.
- Hoxha maintains a perfect 10-0 record against MAAC opponents.
