HAMDEN, Conn. – The men's tennis portion of the Metro Masters Tournament is back in Hamden this year after playing last year's tournament at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts in Fairfield, CT. The Bobcats will look to earn a bid to the 2026 ITA Conference Masters Championship that will take place at the Rome Tennis Courts in Rome, Georgia (Nov. 5-8).

ABOUT THE METRO MASTERS
- The 2026 MAAC Masters Tournament will determine the men's and women's tennis singles and doubles representatives at the 2026 ITA Conference Masters Championship.
- The winning individuals and pairs will earn an automatic bid to the 2026 ITA Conference Masters Championship, which will take place at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia, from November 5-8.
- Four singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists), and three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place).
- Each NCAA AQ-eligible, Division I conference will designate one singles player and one doubles team from each gender to participate.

- Match 12: #8 Elias Hoxha (QU) vs. Tarik Zubovic (MER) – 1:30 PM
- Match 16: #3 Vishal Prakash (QU) vs. Damian Janiszewski (NIA) – 1:30 PM
- Match 23: Alessandro Sciacca & Carl Sjoholm (QU) vs. Damian Janiszewski & Aryav Bhawan (NIA) – 3:00 PM
- Match 32: #1 Finn Burridge & Elias Hoxha (QU) vs. TBD – 6:00 PM
LAST TIME OUT
- Last weekend, the Bobcats competed at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Yale in New Haven.Â
- In total, the Bobcats won seven total matches. As a team, they won four singles matches on Friday, two singles matches on Saturday, and one singles match on Sunday.
- Andrey Pikulin stood out all weekend, winning all three of his singles matches to improve his singles record to 6-0 in the fall.
RECAP OF LAST SEASON
- The Bobcats closed out the regular season with an 8-11 record and a 5-3 mark in conference play, which earned them the number three seed for the postseason tournament.
- Quinnipiac's season came to a close in the semifinals, falling to the eventual champions, the Rider Broncs, 4-2.
ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS
- Elias Hoxha, Alessandro Sciacca, and Vishal Prakash all earned All-Conference honors last season.
- Hoxha earned Third Team Singles, while Sciacca and Prakash were named to Second Team Doubles.
STRONG RETURNING GROUP
- Quinnipiac returns six from last year's team that fell in the conference semifinals last season.
- Finn Burridge is the lone senior on the team, with Elias Hoxha, Carl Sjoholm, and Vishal Prakash rounding out the junior class.
- Prithvi Sudhakar and Alessandro Sciacca are two sophomores who returned to Hamden for their second season with the Bobcats.
THE NEWCOMERS
- The Bobcats welcome four newcomers to the squad: Keitaro Hendrajanto (Jakarta, Indonesia), Â Marcos Karakassis (Hamburg, Germany), Andrey Pikulin (Moscow, Russia), and Milan Radojicic (Belgrade, Serbia).
- Pikulin is a transfer from Northwood University in Michigan, while Hendrajanto, Karakassis, and Radojicic are all incoming first year students.
'26 FALL SCHEDULE
- The Bobcats will battle in five tournaments for the fall portion of their 2026-27 schedule.
- After opening their season at the Fairfield Invitational (Sept. 18-20), the Bobcats will make a short trip to New Haven for the Bulldog Invitational (Sept. 25-27) hosted by Yale.
- The Metro Masters Tournament will take place at Quinnipiac once again, with the event slated for three days (Oct. 2-4).
- Just a few days later, the ITA Regionals will take place at Harvard University from Wednesday, Oct. 7 to Monday, October 12th.
- Quinnipiac will close out its fall portion of its schedule at the Army Shootout in West Point, NY (Oct. 30 – Nov. 1).Â
