Jones Scores 30 Points, Powers QU Past Manhattan in OT Thriller

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball erased a 15-point deficit during the second half of Monday afternoon's MAAC contest, earning the home win over Manhattan by the final score of 98-92 in overtime from M&T Bank Arena.
Asim Jones dropped a career-high 30 points in the win, going 9-of-15 from the floor. The senior guard buried six 3-pointers.
Keith McKnight registered his first career double-double (11 points, 12 rebounds). Jaden Zimmerman added 17 points.

QU battled to a one-point lead at the end of the first half (38-37). Asim Jones led the Bobcats with 11 points over the first 20 minutes, while Terrance Jones scored 10 points for Manhattan. The Jaspers outscored the Bobcats in the paint over the first half (24-14 margin), but Quinnipiac knocked down six triples to take the lead into the locker room.
Manhattan built a double-digit lead to open up the second half. Devin Dinkins knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Jaspers a 63-48 lead with 13:14 left in the second half. From that point, the Bobcats finished regulation on a 32-17 run to force overtime.
Quinnipiac outscored Manhattan 18-12 during the overtime frame to earn the MAAC victory. Asim Jones tallied eight points in the overtime frame, going a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe during the final five minutes of action.
