Bobcats Fall vs. Saint Peter's in Tight MAAC Battle

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped a MAAC contest vs. Saint Peter's, 74-70, on Wednesday night at M&T Bank Arena. The Bobcats fall to 5-2 in conference play with the result.
Jaden Zimmerman led Quinnipiac with 19 points. The sophomore scored 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting during the second half.
Grant Randall scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Amarri Monroe registered 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Quinnipiac led 60-53 after a pair of Monroe free throws with 8:34 left in regulation. The Peacocks finished the game on a 21-10 run to earn the road win.

Saint Peter's kept the lead at five on a Brent Bland jumper with 14:04 left in regulation, which at the time made it 51-46. The Bobcats then went on a 14-2 burst over a 5:21 span, taking a 60-53 lead with 8:34 to go. The Peacocks would finish strong to earn the road win, closing on a 17-7 run over the last five-plus minutes.
Saint Peter's defense held QU without a field goal for more than eight minutes down the stretch. Grant Randall made a 3-pointer with 9:12 left in the game, then QU didn't register another field goal until a Keith McKnight layup with 42 seconds left.
