
Van Keulen Scores Twice, QU Downs Columbia at Home

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac field hockey program earned a comeback win over Columbia, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon in Hamden.
First-year student Rozenmarijn Van Keulen scored two goals to help lead the Bobcats to a win.
Columbia scored the first goal of the matchup 10 minutes into the game (Sophia Abate). The Bobcats then scored three consecutive times - once in the second quarter, once in the third, and once in the final stanza of play.
Van Keulan first found the back of the cage at 17:18 to tie things 1-1.

The first-year athlete scored again in the third (36:51) to give QU the lead.

Francisca Eschoyez finished things off in the fourth quarter of acton with a goal of her own.

Katie Shanahan, Francisca Eschoyez, and Lucia Donati all recorded an assist in the win.

- Rozenmarijn Van Keulen now had four goals in her first five collegiate games with the Bobcats. She also found the back of the cage against Bucknell (8/31) and against Stonehill (9/6).
- Francisca Eschoyez scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season. She also picked up an assist, giving her 14 points already in 2025.
- Total shots were 14-9 in favor of QU.
- Cristina Torres made two saves to help the Bobcats to a win.
- Katie Shanahan and Lucia Donati are both up to three assists for the season.
- QU is now 5-6 against Columbia dating back to 2003. The two teams have split four matchups since 2018.
