WEST WINDSOR, NJ – No. 1 seed Quinnipiac Men's Tennis defeated No. 5 Niagara 4-1 on Saturday morning in the semifinal round of the 2025 MAAC Championship.

Carlos Braun Simo was the clincher, winning his match in straight sets. QU also got dominant singles wins from Elias Hoxha, who only dropped a game, and Vishal Prakash, who won in straight sets as well. The Bobcats started the day right, getting the doubles point thanks to a quick win by Daniel Velek / James Lorenzetti and a thriller win in a tiebreaker by Alex Yang / Elias Hoxha.

The Bobcats will now advance to the MAAC Tournament title match for the fifth time since QU joined the league. Quinnipiac made it all the way to the final round in 2015-16, 2018-19, 2021-22, and 2023-24, and now will look to repeat as MAAC Champions tomorrow morning.

STATS & NOTES

Elias Hoxha kept his perfect MAAC record, improving to 9-0 in singles.
Vishal Prakash stays undefeated in singles, winning his fourth match of the season.
Daniel Velek and James Lorenzetti moved to 9-3 as a doubles team this spring.
Velek is now 10-4 in MAAC doubles in his two years at QU.
QU is currently .500 for the first time this season moving to 11-11.
Carlos Braun Simo improved to 7-2 in MAAC play, moving to 13-3 in his career in MAAC singles.
