HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball won its second consecutive MAAC regular season title on Thursday night in Hamden, as the Bobcats outlasted Mount St. Mary's 79-70 at M&T Bank Arena.

With the victory, Quinnipiac (15-4 MAAC) will head down to Atlantic City for the MAAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The top-seeded Bobcats will play in the MAAC quarterfinal round on Wednesday, March 12 at 6:00 PM.

The Bobcats are 30-9 in MAAC regular season contests over the last two seasons under Head Coach Tom Pecora. Quinnipiac went 15-5 in league play during 2023-24 to earn the program's first-ever regular season championship, and now sits at 15-4 in league play this season en route to a second consecutive title.

Amarri Monroe registered 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way for Quinnipiac. Paul Otieno added 16 points and 6 rebounds – reaching 1,000 career points in the win. Savion Lewis chipped in with 11 assists (zero turnovers), 6 points and 5 rebounds. Khaden Bennett added 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting.

Quinnipiac shot 27-of-59 from the floor and knocked down seven 3-pointers in the win. QU recorded an assist on 17 of 27 made field goals.
The Bobcats scored 46 points in the second half. Khaden Bennett scored 16 points in the final 20 minutes of play.
QU's bench outscored The Mount's by a margin of 22-10.
Amarri Monroe recorded 22 points and 10 rebounds for his league-leading 14^th double-double of the season. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year is averaging 19.8 PPG & 10.5 RPG in MAAC play during 2024-25. Monroe shot 7-of-17 in the game and also recorded three steals.
Khaden Bennett scored 20 points in total, 16 of which came in the second half. The sophomore went 6-for-11 from the floor off the bench over 22 minutes.
Paul Otieno reached the 1,000-point mark for his Quinnipiac career, scoring 16 points of his own in the win.
Savion Lewis tallied 11 more assists and no turnovers in the win. The Bobcats' point guard is up to 6.4 APG this season, and has 10+ dimes in four of QU's last seven contests.
Alexis Reyes added eight points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Quinnipiac has taken four of the last six meetings with Mount St. Mary's.

The regular season champion Bobcats will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, March 8, making the short trip to Fairfield for one final MAAC contest before the postseason tournament in Atlantic City.
