Women's Basketball Falls in WBIT First Round Matchup

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team's season came to an end as they fell to the Seton Hall Pirates 57-40 in the WBIT First Round on Thursday night.
Jackie Grisdale led the Bobcats in scoring with 15 points on 50% (6-for-12) shooting from the floor. Grisdale knocked down a team-high three three-pointers in the loss. Anna Foley scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds, and recorded two blocks. Five Bobcats scored points in the loss to Seton Hall.
Jackie Grisdale got the Bobcats going by knocking down a three right off the jump ball. However, Seton Hall responded with a 17-4 run to take a 17-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Seton Hall's lead grew to eleven at the media timeout in the second quarter. Quinnipiac would respond with a 7-0 run to make it a two-possession game at the end of the half.
With Seton Hall in front 28-22 at the beginning of the second half, the Bobcats made it a four-point game with just over seven minutes left in the third quarter. The Pirates responded again with a run to close out the third frame with a 41-30 lead.
Quinnipiac attempted to come back in the final ten minutes, but Seton Hall always had the response as they finished off the 57-40 win over the Bobcats to advance to the second round of the WBIT.
