Top-Seeded Quinnipiac Secures Game 1 Win over Brown
3/14/2025 10:35:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program is one win away from Lake Placid, earning a 4-1 win in the 2025 ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals at M&T Bank Arena on Friday night.
The Bobcats earned their seventh consecutive playoff victory on home ice, scoring one in each of the first two periods before potting a pair in the final 20 minutes.
Quinnipiac started the scoring in the opening frame, as Victor Czerneckianair deflected home a shot from the point off the stick of Cooper Moore, giving the Bobcats the early advantage.
The home team added another in the second, as Jeremy Wilmer finished off a beautiful passing play from Travis Treloar and Elliott Groenewold to double the advantage and give the Bobcats all they would need.
Two more found the net in the third, as Andon Cerbone roofed a shot from point blank and Chris Pelosi deposited an empty-netter to finish the Quinnipiac scoring.
Brown was able to get one by an otherwise steady Matej Marinov with a 6-on-4 advantage, but the sophomore Slovakian was able to stop the other 20 shots on his cage.
STATS AND NOTES
Game 2 of this ECAC Quarterfinal series will be back at M&T Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon, with a 4 p.m. faceoff. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
