Monroe's 29 Points Power QU Past Canisius in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. – Amarri Monroe set a career-high in points for the fourth time in five games on Thursday night at M&T Bank Arena, leading Quinnipiac Men's Basketball past Canisius by the final score of 89-71.
Monroe tallied 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting. He also grabbed 10 rebounds to earn his eighth double-double of the 2024-25 campaign.
The Bobcats outscored Canisius 47-32 in the second half of action to earn the home win. QU moves to 9-1 in Hamden this year.
Jaden Zimmerman chipped in with 14 points, while Alexis Reyes and Paul Otieno each added 12 points.
Quinnipiac sits atop the league standings once again with the victory, as the Bobcats (10-2 MAAC) are currently tied for first place with Merrimack (also 10-2 MAAC).

- Amarri Monroe is now averaging 20.3 points per game in MAAC play after a career-high 29 points in the win over Canisius. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year has posted point totals of 25, 19, 27, 28, and 29 over the last five games. During that span, he's set a new career-high mark four different times.
- Monroe also grabbed 10 rebounds over 32 minutes – good for his eighth double-double of the year.
- Jaden Zimmerman added 14 points, which ranks tied for his second-highest scoring output of the season. He went 5-of-8 from the floor.
- Alexis Reyes stuffed the box score with 12 points, six rebounds and five assists on 4-of-9 shooting. Reyes finished with a +23 rating in 31 minutes.
- Savion Lewis dished out eight assists for the fourth time this year. He leads the Bobcats with 5.5 APG in 2024-25.
