Second-Half Spurt Leads Bobcats to ESPNU Win

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball earned yet another comeback victory on Friday night in Hamden, as the Bobcats used a second-half run to outlast Saint Peter's by the final score of 69-64 on ESPNU.
Amarri Monroe and Paul Otieno both recorded double-doubles again to lead the way in front of 2,802 fans at M&T Bank Arena. Monroe scored 19 points (16 in the second half) to go along with 11 rebounds, while Otieno added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Savion Lewis scored a season-high 15 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the floor.
The Bobcats went on a 12-0 run from 6:16 – 2:27 in the second half. QU trailed 53-49 before the run, then led 61-53 after the quick spurt.
The Bobcats (14-3 MAAC) move back into sole possession of first place in the league standings with three games left in the 2024-25 regular season.

- Quinnipiac shot 26-of-63 (41.3%) in the second half, 21-of-56 (37.5%) over the final 20 minutes.
- The Bobcats outrebounded SPU 35-31. Otieno (12 rebounds) and Monroe (11 rebounds) combined for 23 boards. QU also outscored the Peacocks 38-24 in the paint.
- Monroe's double-double is his 13th of the season (leads MAAC), and Otieno's is his 12 of the year (second in MAAC).
- Amarri Monroe finished 7-of-19 shooting, scoring 19 points in total. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year is averaging 20.5 PPG & 10.2 RPG in league games.
- Paul Otieno's double-double came via 5-of-10 shooting. He recorded 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in the win. Otieno is up to 13.2 PPG & 8.7 RPG in MAAC play. He's shooting 60.0% for the season. The Bobcats' big man grabbed 6 more offensive rebounds.
- Savion Lewis helped lead the scoring charge with a season-high 15 points – 7 in the first half, 8 in the second half. The graduate student also dished out five more assists to give him 564 assists (QU D1 record) for his career.
- Khaden Bennett chipped in with 11 points and 4 rebounds. The sophomore now has 18 games with 10+ points in 2024-25.
- Quinnipiac is 29-8 during regular season league contests over the last two seasons under Head Coach Tom Pecora.
- QU has taken five of the last six over Saint Peter's, and both matchups during the regular season in 2024-25.
