QU Earns Wire-to-Wire Win Over Rider

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball earned another double-digit MAAC win on Sunday, as the Bobcats defeated Rider 72-58 at M&T Bank Arena.
Jaden Zimmerman led QU in scoring once again. The sophomore guard posted 19 points and six rebounds via 8-of-14 shooting.
Amarri Monroe registered his second double-double of the season, recording 14 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. Asim Jones chipped in with 12 points and eight assists.
Quinnipiac led by as many as 21 points during the wire-to-wire victory.
The Bobcats move to 2-0 in MAAC play with the victory. Quinnipiac is 4-1 at home so far in 2025-26.

The Bobcats raced out to a 38-20 lead in the first half. Asim Jones and Jaden Zimmerman both scored eight points during the first 20 minutes, and QU went 15-of-36 (41.7%) as a team. Quinnipiac held a 13-0 advantage in points off turnovers in the first half.
The Bobcats held on for another double-digit conference win. Rider cut the deficit to just 10 points (55-45) with 9:25 left on a Flash Burton free throw, then QU went on a 9-2 spurt to extend the lead once again. Jaden Zimmerman poured in 11 more points during the second half to help power QU to the finish.

- Jaden Zimmerman has now led Quinnipiac in scoring in each of the last four games. He shot 8-of-14 from the floor and knocked down a pair of 3-pointers. The sophomore posted identical 19-point & 6-rebound performances in both conference wins this week (Friday night at Iona, Sunday vs. Rider). He's up to 17.0 points per game to lead the Bobcats so far in 2025-26.
- Amarri Monroe's double-double is his second of the season. He posted 14 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to help lead the Bobcats to the home victory. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year grabbed eight defensive rebounds. He's up to 15.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in 2025-26.
- Senior guard Asim Jones set a new career-high mark with eight assists. He also scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds. Jones is averaging 9.0 points per game now for the Bobcats. Jones has 43 points over the last three games (all QU wins).
- Keith McKnight chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. He has seven different double-digit scoring efforts during his first season at Quinnipiac.
- Spence Wewe and Grant Randall both added six points and six rebounds. Wewe had six points and five rebounds during the first half.
- Quinnipiac finished with a 42-20 advantage on points in the paint.
- The Bobcats have won four straight vs. Rider, and Quinnipiac has taken 11 of the last 12.
- Quinnipiac returns to the floor on Saturday, Dec. 17, as the Bobcats will play host to non-conference opponent UMass Lowell. Game time is slated for 2:00 PM from M&T Bank Arena.
