HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball routed Central Connecticut State on Thursday night during the home opener, as the Bobcats battled to a 71-49 victory in front of 2,581 fans at M&T Bank Arena.

Amarri Monroe registered 20 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead the way for QU. Jaden Zimmerman chipped in with 19 points and four rebounds, and Grant Randall recorded a career-high 14 points to go along with eight boards.

QU shot 40.8% from the field in total (29-71), and knocked down eight 3-pointers. The Bobcats outscored CCSU 36-20 in the paint.

Quinnipiac moves to 1-1 with the victory. The Bobcats are 26-5 at home under Head Coach Tom Pecora over the last three seasons.

Quinnipiac's largest lead was 26 points (9:19 in second half). The home squad led for 36:05.
Amarri Monroe has 144 career steals, which ranks 7^th in Quinnipiac program history. He has 10 steals over Quinnipiac's first two games after setting the new single-season Division I record with 72 steals a year ago.
Monroe's 20 points came on 9-of-17 shooting. He registered 12 points in the first half.
Jaden Zimmerman finished with 19 points, knocking down four triples in the win. He played 34 minutes and finished with a team-best +29 plus/minus rating.
Grant Randall's 14-point effort is his first collegiate game with 10+ points. He went 6-of-11 from the floor and also set a new career-high mark with eight rebounds.
Asim Jones finished with nine points and five assists. He has 19 points and eight helpers over his first two contests at QU.
Spence Wewe grabbed eight rebounds for QU, three of which came on the offensive glass.
Keith Mcknight finished with four points and grabbed four rebounds.
Quinnipiac has won four of its last five meetings against Central Connecticut State.
Head Coach Tom Pecora has guided QU to a 45-24 mark since the start of 2023-24 season.
